Talkers and Listeners

There are those who talk and those who listen.  I encounter people all the time who just talk, talk, talk and never stop to listen to a word you have to say.  The world revolves around them.  To the talkers you are just a servant whose main function is to politely withstand their barrage of verbal punishment without as so much as uttering one phrase.  Interestingly enough, these people usually are the privaleged in some way or another.  They are the silver-spoon fed trustafarians, the politicians and the people who think they are just that little bit better than everyone else.  I find them disgusting, irritating and actually feel wronged by them.  Have you ever sat there for an hour while that person just talks your ear off and you feel like crawling away and hiding?  Then you know first hand what I'm talking about.  Some of the more savy talkers actually realize they are irritating you but they care not for they believe you were born to listen to their drizzel.  At the end of the day don't expect anything from this person.  The talker is self serving and totally devoid of normal capicity for emotion.  The talker lacks common sense and empathy for others. The talker will screw you in a business deal without the blink of an eye so watch out!
What frustrates me is the talker seems more often than not to be in a postion of power.  Why is that?  My observation would be that the listener allows this behavior to continue unchecked.  With myself I find that I don't want to be rude and say ,"Excuse me but you are annoying the hell out of me by talking and not listening to a word I have to say."  So I am condoning the talkers behavior by my lack of guts to tell them off.  If you are a talker reading this I say shut the hell up and try listening to others.  If you are a listener I say don't be afraid to tell someone, "Shut your mouth and try listening for a change!"  You might be giving the talker the best advice they could possibly ever get.  They might at first hate you but who cares when you know for a fact that when they enter a room everyone literally runs in the opposite direction.  I am going to put to this idea to the test and post another blog on the results later.
